Why Grading Is Worth Doing Right

• Drainage starts here. A pad graded to positive slope moves water away from the foundation instead of letting it pool against the 59718 clay after a spring melt.
• Settlement is set here. Fill placed in lifts and compacted toward 95 percent density on a Proctor test keeps a slab or driveway from sinking a season later.
• Rework is expensive. Getting elevations right the first time is far cheaper than lifting a wet corner after the concrete is in.

Our Process

We call 811 for the underground locate, review the grading plan, and strip topsoil to stockpile for later reuse. Then we cut and fill to balance the earthwork, compact the subgrade in lifts, and shape finish grade so it drains the way the plan calls for. A final pass sets the pad elevations before we hand it off.
